Firestarter is an exciting science fiction-horror thriller by Stephen King that was first published in September 1980. The story follows a young girl named Charlie McGee, who has a special power called pyrokinesis, allowing her to start fires with her mind. A dangerous government agency wants to capture her and use her abilities for their own evil plans. This gripping novel quickly became popular, making it onto the New York Times’ Best-Sellers List just a few weeks after its release. It was even nominated for several awards in 1981, including the British Fantasy Award. In 1984, Firestarter was turned into a movie, bringing Charlie’s thrilling story to the big screen.
